Profile
Sri Mulyani Indrawati has served as managing director and the most senior woman at the World Bank since May 2010, a constant in the organization's leadership as Jim Young Kim assumed the presidency in July 2012. As managing director, she oversees the World Bank's operations in Asia and Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Indrawati's ongoing attention at the World Bank to middle-income countries such as Indonesia and the BRIC nations as a source of power and needed reform draws from her experiences as the Indonesian Minister of Finance from 2005 to 2010. While minister, Indrawati cut Indonesia's debt in half and helped the reserves reach an all time high of $50 billion.
